This 406,000 sf, 18-story concrete structure apartment building is located in Fulton Market on a tight site adjacent to the CTA L-tracks and neighboring, occupied properties. With a rooftop pool providing sweeping views of Chicago, this historic building will function with a hospitality use in mind, attracting both residents and visitors to the neighborhood to create a truly unique experience.
Historic Character of the Neighborhood
Planned on an irregularly shaped site, the project includes an adaptive reuse of the Arthur Harris Building which was preserved and connected to the new building. The back half of the building was an extension built in the 1950’s. Our team removed this portion for necessary underground work and renovated original 1904-built structure, including extensive repairs to its windows, masonry facade, roof, and interior structural wood cross-beams. The landmarked portion houses retail space and the residential structure houses 363 rental units, a second floor amenity level and roof top pool/amenity space.
