On the Jobsite: PE Meeting at Academy for Global Citizenship
Training focused on sustainability
Our Project Engineer meeting was hosted at the Academy for Global Citizenship. Scheduled for completion by Power in Fall 2023, this project, known as the "school of the future", is a 71,000 square foot new campus with academic spaces for grades K-8, as well as an early childhood center and health clinic. Attendees toured the campus and learned about the multiple sustainability features included in the new school. Striving to be "net positive," the project's general efficient systems include solar panels, large water tanks to recycle rain water, and a geothermal heating system. Academy for Global Citizenship is on track to obtain the Living Building Challenge certificate, making it the first in the Midwest.
